Maisie Williams
Having emerged out of nowhere to become one of TV's all-time memorable characters as Game of Thrones' tomboy Arya Stark, young Maisie Williams is now set to take over the big screen with her imminent lead in Carol Morley's The Falling. As we take Maisie to Berlin to champion her as our 2015 nominated 'Shooting Star', she tells us a few secrets about her favourite movies.

What are you working on?
I am about to start shooting a movie in New Orleans called The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea [Bill Purple directs Maisie alongside Jason Sudeikis and Jessica Biel - the film follows the growing friendship between a witty young girl and a shy architect after the death of his wife]. It's very exciting and I can't wait to get started.
What has been your career high so far?
I filmed a C4TV docudrama last year in the UK called Cyberbully which was very challenging. It's just been aired and I am thrilled as it was very well received.
What was your first job/role in film?
That would be Arya in HBOs Game of Thrones.
If I knew then what I know now...
One piece of advice I wish I had known and would pass to others is the losing out on a role is never personal.
What is your favourite British film?
My favourite British film is The Imitation Game. Aside from being a compelling story, Benedict Cumberbatch gave a fantastic portrayal of a troubled character in the 1940s
What's the first film you remember seeing?
That would be Love Actually - I love how all the stories intertwine.
What's your favourite line or scene from a film?
It's from The King's Speech:
Lional Logue - Why should I waste my time listening?
King George - Because I have the right to be heard, I have a voice!
Lional Logue - Yes you do
It's a very strong turning point in the film.
Favourite screen kiss?
That would be from the film Like Crazy between Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin, there is just such great chemistry between them.
Who's your favourite screen hero and/or villain?
Spiderman! He's a real hero, not stereotypically muscly but very athletic.
