Synopsis
Saturday night at a sold out stadium. Heavyweight boxer - ‘Diamond’ Derek Douglas – flanked by his team, makes a big entrance as he heads to his locker room ahead of the biggest fight of his life. With the championship belt in sight, he is unperturbed by the odds, which are heavily stacked against him.
Energy and excitement are high. But when Derek discovers that his closest training partner – Cain - is in his opponent’s locker room, it triggers a series of catastrophic and self-destructive events both mentally and physically. Soon Derek is questioning himself and those around him and they, in turn, are questioning if he’ll even make it to the ring tonight. Or if he would even be fit to fight…
When Cain arrives in the locker room to witness Derek’s hands being wrapped for the fight, truths are revealed about his own place within the team and his motivation to betray them. Anger becomes hurt for both him and them.
With first bell approaching, and ever lowering odds, the team must work hard to help Derek shed the heavy weights that are holding him back from becoming both a champion and the man that he deserves to be.
