Monkey Business
Synopsis
‘Monkey Business’ is the story of one small monkey’s determination to build an idol which he can adore and worship amid an eerie forest filled with tyrannical birds and personal demons. Armed with only a green leaf, a hammer, and a large portion of grit and determination, our hero embarks on an unforgettable and life-changing journey in the name of what he believes in.
Can he achieve his goal and create something he loves? Can he manage to protect it from getting dumped upon by the by the high-flying, mocking birds of the forest? More importantly, can the monkey keep his cool under provocation?
Loaded with religious subtexts, this simple story of a monkey and his dream parodies wider issues of war, taste and cultural otherness as a monkey’s business becomes a human’s moral dilemma. At the same time, ‘Monkey Business’ is a colourful and entertaining animated film that will have you on the edge of your seat and leave you chattering like a monkey for hours.
