Salt of the Earth
Synopsis
Salt of the Earth explores one facet of Trinidad's culture through this ancient music tradition called Parang and the ones who make it survive, the parrenderos and Holly Betaudier, a fantastic television producer and presenter.
The music sets the pace for the discovery of the island's beauty, its history, its landscapes and its people. This is a journey into Trinidad's past to better understand how an English speaking country has managed to keep and continue a Spanish tradition imported hundreds of years ago.
