The Engagement
Synopsis
The Engagement is a complex and fascinating love story set in contemporary London. Dario is a mysterious motorbike courier who falls in love with a girl who is engaged to be married, but he cannot escape his horrifying experiences as a Serb paramilitary in the Bosnian war.
The film is directed by John Duigan (Flirting) from his own screenplay which sticks to his familiar theme of exploring an unusual and difficult relationship. The film stars Emma Pierson and Croatian acting sensation Dragan Micanovic who stars in Black Sheep with Anthony Hopkins. The very intimate and intense nature of this story dictated the way John choose to make this film, and he has shot it with a small film crew using a state of the art digital beta video camera.
