The Other Half
Synopsis
When Englishman, Mark, marries his American bride, Holly, everyone agrees they are the perfect match. The couple set off on the honeymoon of their dreams, a romantic road-trip through Portugal. But there's a catch. Mark has neglected to mention one small detail: Portugal is hosting the European Football Championship Finals and he has three precious tickets to see the English national team play in their opening games. The team and their raucous fans seem to follow the newlyweds everywhere. Mark claims innocence, a complete coincidence. After all, what kind of man would lie to his wife just to watch England play in a football tournament? Gradually, Holly is forced to consider that her husband might be just such a man. The games intensify, the subterfuge deepens and cracks develop. It all begins to add up. Mark denies everything. But what has he done? How can he prove that he really loves her? The film captures the passion, drama and romance of this explosive match between the capricious honeymooners. An international soccer competition, idyllic churches, ancient castles, secluded beaches, rugged mountains and the winding vibrant streets of Lisbon play stadium to this whirlwind ride through beautiful Portugal.
